Sheri Spirt

I am a psychiatrist in private practice on the upper west side of Manhattan and one of the first to use canines in the treatment room. I have published several canine related essays; one involved the breeding of my Maltese dog and the relationship with the owner of the female, a 16-year-old Hispanic girl accepted to Yale on a full scholarship. Another focused on my dog's miraculous recovery from a serious illness. I am working on a memoir, focusing on my relationship with my dogs.
