Shortly after retiring as a social worker and psychotherapist, I discovered my "writer's voice" along with a passion for writing about animals.

Although cats and horses hold a special place in my heart, I am deeply concerned with the welfare of all animals and a strong advocate for their protection. I am a Member of the Cat Writer's Association and The Association For Pet Loss and Bereavement.

I have been blogging for Petside since April 2008.

Transplanted from New York State in 2001, I am now living in Central Florida with Marty, my best friend and sacred companion. We are blessed to share our home with Hush Puppy and Hubble, our two amazing Oriental Shorthair cats.

When I am not too busy playing with our cats or writing about them, you might find me tending to my virtual dogs, cats, cows and horses while farming or building empires on my Facebook page or even offering comfort to those who have lost a pet or are caring for one that is seriously ill on my personal blogs: Our Beloved Angels and Frequently Feline.
