World's Best Litter Donation Campaign

Published August 5, 2011

“I’m as corny as Kansas in August”, the opening line of the hit song from in the 1949 Broadway musical, “South Pacific,” starts dancing around in my head whenever I sing the praises of that fabulous brand,  World’s Best Cat Litter. And since it’s our kitties’ favorite, I hear they have been inspired to make a tiny change in the ending lyrics to “I’m in love with a wonderful litter.”  But setting aside any mewsical arranging and getting down to business, as many cat lovers are already aware, World’s Best Litter is virtually dust free, quickly clumpable, flushable, odor free, and completely ecologically sound.  World’s Best Litter is headquartered in Muscatine, Iowa.

One of the things I most admire about the company that manufactures World’s Best Litter is their love of cats and their concern for the welfare of shelter kitties throughout the country and finding innovative ways to help those shelters that are working tirelessly to care for them.

World’s Best Litter has once again announced they are supporting a fourth round of its GiveLitter™ initiative, in which thousands of much-needed cat litter will be donated to A.D.O.P.T Pet shelter in Illinois, the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons in New York , and Homeward Pet in Washington.

All of the participating shelters are part of the No More Homeless Pets® Network – a program of the Best Friends Animal Society. Qualified 501(c) (3) organizations can apply to join at http://nmhpnetwork.bestfriends.org/.

Starting Monday, August 1, World’s Best Litter is asking animal lovers to vote each day through GiveLitter- via Facebook and on the program's website. Every vote cast will help donate pounds of World's Best Cat Litter to their choice of the three animal shelters above. In three previous campaigns voters helped in donating 41,000 pounds of free litter to shelters in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and three shelters throughout Texas.

And even though it won't be until after September 16 that the amount of litter donated to the rescue organizations will be announced,  shelter representatives are already anticipating great results, with truckloads of free litter donated to their centers since they are aware of how generous and caring Internet savvy animal lovers are in helping animals in need.

There is much more than a kernel of truth in the saying, “giving is receiving!” So with a just a few clicks of a mouse we can make this World’s Best Litter campaign an inordinate success. I have already voted several times! So get a little corny, and participate by voting every day, since it’s the welfare of these shelter cats to which we are all devoted.
