Whose Photos Do You Show Off, Your Pet's or Your Baby's?Published May 25, 2010
Whether it means flashing a high-tech cell phone or reaching into an overstuffed wallet, everyone loves showing off cute photos of "The Baby." The question is; which member of the brood are they bragging about? A new AP-Petside poll finds that almost half (45%) of all pet owners say they carry around photos of their pets. Dog owners edge out cat owners in the battle for proudest pet parent, with 48% of dog owners having photos on hand and 37% of cat owners doing the same. Women (52%) are more likely than men (36%) to keep any pet pic on them, but the sexes are almost even when it comes to human offspring. 90% of women say they carry pictures of their children, as do nearly as many men (80%). And what about those of us with mixed-species families? "I have pictures of my four-legged kids and my new two-legged one in my phone," says new mom Jennifer Liggett, a Petside Facebook fan. "I'm just as proud of my kitties as I am of my daughter." Petside Facebook fan, Wendy Warren-Swalls agrees, "They're all on my iPod! Furry and skin-ny alike!"
