WEEKLY CUDDLE CHAMPION: Shylah, Siberian Husky

I'm sorry to see that you had to put down Shylah, she is such a beautiful dog. About 3yrs. ago I had to put down my Siberian Husky, Tanner, she would not get up from a lying down position, not even to eat. I took her to our Vet, he diagnosed her with diabetes, told me it was a severe case, she would have to take insulin injections everyday with blood work every week. She stayed at the Vet's office so he could start the insulin injections & see if she would have any reactions, during the night he called my home & told my husband & me that her condition was getting worse that we should go to his office to see her. She was still lying on the floor, on her blanket, she whimpered when she heard our voices, I sat on the floor holding her head in my lap, talking to her & crying at the same time, she kept those beautiful eyes on my face. The Vet said she was suffering more, still had not eaten or drank any fluids, he advised us to put her down to cease her suffering, I think "my heart stopped for a minute", my husband & I looked at each other & knew what the Vet had said was best for her. He asked if we wanted to stay with her for the injection, we answered we would not leave her for anything, she died with her head still on my lap & my tears falling on her head. I miss her terribly & hope to be reunited with her one day.
