Video: NYPD Horse "Talks" with Dog at Occupy Wall Street Protests

A new video shows a horse and a dog "talking" at the scene of the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York.

Did you ever think a horse and a dog might make good friends? A new video of an NYPD horse "talking" with a dog at the Occupy Wall Street protests shows just that!

The scene of this adorable video is set in downtown Manhattan at the Occupy Wall Street protests, and (as the video maker writes) provides a "nice contrast to the perception of the NYPD in the area" due to the nearby protesters.

It also shows us that perhaps the opening lines of the charming television series Mr. Ed ("A horse is a horse of course of course, and no one can talk to a horse of course, unless the horse is Mr. Ed") were wrong. In this video (uploaded to YouTube by ubermongolianbeef), a mounted NYPD police horse interacts with a cute little dog named Frenchie, seemingly "talking" to one another.

Anyone watching this will easily "grok" Frenchie and his new equine pal. Following their obligatory polite introductions, the two had lots to talk about, and it wasn't only about their feelings toward the crowds who were surrounding them (some of whom in the background were possibly uttering passionate political statements). It was obvious to me that these two were also deeply involved in the discussion about their concern over the state of the economy and how seriously it is affecting the lives of animals all over the world.

But what I found most engaging was the way in which Frenchie, whose excitement is palatable, kept tossing out his ideas about possible solutions to the world's problems. I was moved by the way the horse listened with great patience, frequently nodding his head in agreement while they both affectionately touched noses from time to time.

Of course these speculations are just my interpretation of this “waking dream." Take a moment out of your busy day to enjoy some humorous entertainment. And ,after you finish watching, do leave a comment sharing what you think is happening as the spellbinding drama unfolds. I will bet my bottom dollar there will be some very creative “takes” for us to read.
