Awareness for the welfare of cats big and small is going to be raised by The Tiniest Tiger on the Red Carpet of this year's Academy Awards.
This year, the Academy Awards are going to the animals. Well...sort of. At the very least, animals and animal causes will have representation on the prominent award show's Red Carpet.
In a new initiative, a blog dedicated to cats, The Tiniest Tiger, will be making an appearance at this year's Oscars. Joanne McGonagle, author of The Tiniest Tiger, will be working with Animal Planet's own Jackson Galaxy of the show "My Cat from Hell" to promote the welfare of cats big and small. At the Academy Awards, these folks will represent our furry friends on the Red Carpet, handing out gear (a neat hipster bag) that will help support global conservation programs to VIP Celebrities.
To promote the cause, the Tiniest Tiger will be holding an online event in which people can get involved, win some cool gear and, best of all, help cats around the globe. On Wednesday, February 22 from 5:30-7:00 pm Pacific time (8:30-10 pm EST), the blog will be live tweeting from the Secret Room Event as LA gears up for the Oscars. They'll be tweeting out photos of invited VIP celebrities as they present them with The Tiniest Tiger Hipster Bag.
People can get involved using the hashtag #RedCarpetCat on Twitter during the allotted time period for the chance to win prizes, including $50 Tiniest Tiger gift certificates, Tiniest Tiger books, and, of course, The Tiniest Tiger Hipster Bag. All proceeds will be used to help global conservation efforts.

This was great! Because not only were tweeters going CRAZY!!! But there is the blog tour in which people can win a bag that way!
Tweeting is something birds do.
Not really fair to those who do not "tweet".
