The popular surf dog, Ricochet, has officially reached $200,000 in total fundraising thanks to her latest campaign to aid those affected by the wildfires in Colorado.
She teamed up with the Emma Zen Foundation, an organization which highlights Pet Emergency Awareness and Preparedness through their Pet First Aid and CPR, Pet Safety Games and their program TEAM 02. TEAM 02 focuses on Pet Oxygen Mask establishment to fire departments and other first responders.
Ricochet joined up with the Emma Zen Foundation for two purposes; to help raise needed funds and to raise awareness of the necessity for fire departments to use pet oxygen masks in order to prevent animals from being affected by smoke in fires in California, Colorado and other high risk areas.
In this campaign this amazing canine has raised her $200,000th dollar- reaching a new milestone in her funding efforts. So it’s no surprise to this writer that the amazing Surf Dog Ricochet is presently absorbed in another much needed fund-raising event.
Since Ricochet had already demonstrated pet oxygen masks in the past, she understood, on a first-paw basis, how desperately these life-saving devices were needed to help the firefighters in Colorado and other high risk areas. So to jump in to launch her fundraising campaign she teamed up with Emma Zen Foundation. Incredibly so far, Surf Dog Ricochet has been able to raise over $44,000 so with the generous help of 104,000 supportive Facebook fans, and Explore.org, one of biggest donors with a grant that will pay for 300 masks. The cost of each mask kit, which includes a small, medium and large mask, is $75.00.
Surf Dog Ricochet and the Emma Zen Foundation are urging other organizations and individuals to make a tax-deductible donation at the Oxygen Mask Donations secure site. They are both hoping to raise sufficient funds to make it possible for every fire department in Colorado and California to have on hand animal life-saving oxygen masks, with an ultimate goal to get a pet oxygen mask on every fire truck in the country.
As this is only the beginning of the fire season, Ricochet and the Emma Zen Foundation will be working hard to raise awareness about preparedness. Their hope is to help provide the states at high risk for fires with pet oxygen masks before a calamitous fire strikes. While smoke damage in animals can result in tragic loss, your donation will help to save precious animal lives.
