Spring Loaded

I’m in love with my new client Tuxy (short for “Tuxedo”). That face! Can you see the pug in him? Tuxy has been giving his family a run for their money since they brought him home from a rescue organization three months ago. This guy has energy to burn. He never lets anyone forget when he’s in the room, what with the pawing, nipping and jumping up. Seems he hasn’t figured out how to chill out yet. Our first session turned out to be quite an eye-opener for Tuxy’s people, because, surprise, surprise, he’s as smart as he is handsome. Sure, he mastered the basic sit, come and down immediately, but what was most impressive was how he managed to focus on the training process, despite his previous ADD-like attitude. Even after we finished the session and sat down to chat about homework he was still at it, all, “Check me out. You like this down? I can do it all day, baby.” “See? Still doing it.” I ran into Tuxy’s owner today at a local dog supply store and he told me that he can see great improvements in Tuxy’s attitude in just the past 24 hours. Tuxy’s going from ADD to PhD!
