A look at the Siamese cat breed!

The Siamese cat breed may be one of the most known and recognized cat breeds in the world. In fact, there are Siamese roots in many other popular cat breeds, including the Ocicat, Burmese, Snowshoe, and many others. The physical characteristics of Siamese cats make them easily recognizable:

Siamese cats have small, sleek heads, large ears, and narrow bodies and tails. They have blue eyes and "points" of color on ears, feet, muzzle, and tail. Siamese males can reach 15 pounds, while females are usually 8 to 12 pounds.

These cats are renowned for their physical prowess; they are extremely agile and lean, and enjoy a high amount of activity.

For as much as they are known for their high activity levels, Siamese cats are known for their vocal yowls and incessant talking. If you are looking for a pet that doesn't require much attention, the Siamese is not for you; these cats crave human attention and interaction. They also don't like to be alone, so if you are prone to travel or long days at the office, consider getting two of the breed so they can keep each other company.

I would love to see the topic of Lactation covered on Simply Beautiful Beginnings; esielpalcy the natural methods of getting the milk increase... My best friend had a lot of trouble adjusting to her lack of milk and then the flood when it came in. It was very stressful time for her. Thanks!Aliya D.aliyadaya(at)shaw(dot)ca

We just adopted a Siamese and boy is he a handful! Luckily, his big brother adores him and tolerates his antics.

Hi, I am overly excited about Siamese cats in general. The reason for my excitement is that I am purchasing a wedge-head seal point. I was informed by the breeder that they were born on the 15th of this month so, I assume it will be another 8-12 weeks before I can pick him up. I am looking forward to plenty of wonderful times with my cat. Cheers Reynaldo Williams
