Should I let my vet perform a lumpectomy on my dog?

A: If your vet has examined your pet and deemed her healthy she probably will do just fine. Routine blood work should be checked before any anesthetic procedure to check kidney and liver function as well as a complete blood count. Anesthesia in general is very safe but of course there are risks with it just as there are in humans.

Removal of a lump is medically referred to as a lumpectomy. If determined to be malignant, surgical removal of the lump, as well as additional medical treatment, may be necessary. -County Line Nissan

My one year old pittbull often at times will limp with his back legs. We started him on 1000 mg of glucosamine, is it fine to give it to the dog everyday? The Vet stated that he may have hip deplexia and may require surgery? Is there anything else that we can do?
