For people with a busy schedule, short haired cats are a great option since they require much less grooming than their long-hair counterparts. However, brushing these cats to remove any loose hair contributes to a healthier coat. Some cat breeds, such as the Abyssinian, have an undercoat, while others (i.e. Siamese and Burmese) do not. For those cats without undercoats, owners need to be gentle with grooming to prevent any harm to the cat's skin. If you really hate groom care, consider the Sphynx, a hairless cat!
