Scottish Terrier Triumphs at National Dog Show

Over 1,400 dogs competed for the title, but in the end only one pawed its way to the prize. The Scottish Terrier claimed the grand prize in the 2009 National Dog Show.
More than 1,400 dogs in 160 breeds competed for the title of top dog, but in the end only one pawed its way to the prize. Judge Mrs. Robert Smith awarded Best in Show to "Sadie," a Scottish Terrier owned by Amelia Musser of Mackinac Island, MI.
This was Sadie the Scottie's 100th Best in Show win and she is only the third Scottish Terrier to win the National Dog Show.
This year's dog show also featured three new breeds that have been accepted by the American Kennel Club. The Irish red-and-white setter, Norwegian buhund and Pyrenean shepherd.
