Santa Paws Online Toy Drive Helps Shelter Pets

While many pets are fortunate to have a home this season, many others will reside in shelters, still awaiting a pet parent to take them into a forever loving home. But just because these pets will be in shelters doesn't mean they should go without; they are still deserving of all of the love, attention, and holiday gifts that their homed furry comrades receive!

Enter the Santa Paws Drive, the first-ever online toy drive dedicated to helping shelter pets. Their mission is simple: to make sure that shelter pets don't get overlooked during the holidays. As such, they campaign and lobby for online animal lovers to make donations of cash or gifts (toys or treats) in the holiday season that will be distributed to various animal shelters across the U.S. and Canada.

At this moment, the Santa Paws Drive has wrapped up its third year of unwrapping holiday cheer, and has proved wildly successful in helping shelter pets. All in all, the cause raised around $12,000 worth of cash, treats and toys for the network's six shelters.

Personally, Petside thinks it's wonderful to see people "paw it forward", especially during the holiday season.
