Rocker Bret Michaels Launches Line of Accesories to Rock Your Pets' World

Rocker Bret Michaels launches his own pet line.

Rock star—and recent winner of “Celebrity Apprentice”—Bret Michaels is yearning to rock your world! Actually, make that your pet’s world.

The Poison singer has teamed up with PetSmart to launch his own pet line of accessories. Michaels tells TODAY.com that the over 50 differed themed products such as studded plush beds and squeaky pull toys in bandanas are designed “to rock your pet world.”

Naturally, the Bret Michaels pet line is inspired by his own rocker lifestyle.

After listening to his favorite music, Michaels gathered several ideas for his pet accessories lines, many of which he tested on his own dogs—including large breeds like a German Shepherd and a Siberian Husky—to measure what the dogs liked and what need improvement.

Although he had all cat and dog breeds in mind when designing his line in the hopes to ensure functionality no matter what the pets’ size, Michaels also told TODAY.com that, “as an owner of bigger animals, I love the toys that you can throw.”

These toys include a rubber ball with a bandana on it, a chewable tour bus and stuffed toys Rocco the Road Dog and Punk, which can please smaller dog as well as large dogs.

While Michaels certainly ensures that cats and dogs will experience a piece of the rocker lifestyle, there is one pet demographic that he wishes he could have designed for: the rat.

Michaels asserts that the Hollywood the image of rats to be one of the foulest and meanest creatures in the animal world is a complete false categorization of the creatures. “Rats are the cleanest, friendliest, easiest animal I’ve ever experienced. It’s like the wolves – they’ve got a bad rap,” Michaels said.

Yet, until he can begin thinking of accessories for the rocker rat, Michaels is excited for the launch of Bret Michaels Pets Rock™ Collection on June 18 at PetSmart stores and PetSmart.com.
