A: A lot of puppies seem to do this. Have your pup's stool tested for parasites. If she is positive and goes untreated she will keep infecting herself by eating her own stool! You can try sprinkling cayenne pepper onto the stool. When she goes to eat it she may not like the taste as much. There is also a powder sold by veterinarians that can be added to the dog's food. This powder then makes their feces less desirable to them!

You still didn't answer the question......you only said that a lot of puppies do this. The question was "Why". Is there something lacking in their diet? You said have her tested for parasites....is the parasites what causes them to do this?????
