Q: My dog swallowed a bone. What should I do?

My Cocker Spaniel swallowed a small round lamb chop bone whole. Are there signs that this may be hurting her? Should I wait to see if she can pass it, or take her to a vet immediately? A: Hopefully since this is a small bone it will pass. It is important to monitor your dog for signs of a gastric or intestinal obstruction. Some of these signs are vomiting, unwillingness to eat, lethargy, and a painful belly. You should see your vet immediately if your dog exhibits any of these signs.

My son's Australin sherpard under 1yr. ate several chicken bones out of the trash. Puppy has had diarehia, some with a small amount of blood. Any suggestions>

charlie is a 30 lb cock a poo. He had a hard time with his bowel movement 2 days ago, just bits of fluid. The next day he had diarreha and then threw up within 30 minutes. The vet prescribed pro-pectalin gel and metronidazpme every 12 hours. He did eat rice and chicken last night but today no bowel movement, will not eat and he is sleeping a lot. It is very hot here and has been 100 degrees. He is also sneezing when he goes out in the grass, just started a week ago. He is 20 months old. What do you think
