Q: Can I Use Adult Dog Dental Products for My Puppy?

Q: Can I use dental products for grown dogs on my 10-week-old puppy? And are mouthwashes that you add to their drinking water OK for puppies?

A: It is a great idea to get your puppy started so young! It will make things much easier for you in the future. Adult dog toothpaste should be ok. I would just use a small amount especially since it is the act of brushing that you want your pet to become accustomed to. At this point it is not really necessary to add anything to the water since the teeth that your pet has now are not permanent. Once your pup has her adult set of teeth you can use the water additives to keep her teeth clean!
