Petside Donates $1,000 to Angel on a Leash, a Therapy Dog Charity

With Malachy the Pekingese being proclaimed Best in Show at the 2012 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, the time of year we've come to affectionately refer to as Dog Show Season has come to a close. While we'll wind up waiting for next year to see who will take home the dog show world's top prize, we won't wait to thank you, our Petside visitors, for garnering 10,000 entries in our Dog Show Season Sweepstakes! As a result of your entries, Petside is donating $1,000 to Angel on a Leash, the charity of David Frei, the voice of Westminster!

"The dogs and the humans of Angel On A Leash are appreciative of everyone involved with the Petside Sweepstakes and for your support in entering the Sweepstakes," says Frei. "With your continued help, we can get more therapy dogs in more places and help more people in need. Thanks from all of us!"

Angel on a Leash is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of those less fortunate through work with therapy animals. The organization prides itself on championing these therapy animals in health care facilities, schools, rehabs, hospice, extended care, correctional facilities and crisis intervention scenarios all across the country. Perhaps above all, Angel on a Leash serves as the recognition and embodiment of the effect that the canine-human bond can have on improving overall human health and welfare.

Through the creation and perpetuation of the best therapy dog programs across the country, Angel on a Leash hopes to continue to share the benefits of therapy dogs for those in need. Petside's $1,000 donation will go towards helping Angel on a Leash carry out that mission.
