The Petside Digest: This Week's Must-Reads

A Dog-Fighting App for Android...Really?: Android Software
We'll start this week's Digest off with a bit of disheartening news. Apparently, there is a virtual app for the Android phone called Dog Wars that is based off of the all-too-real criminal activity of dog fighting. For some unknown reason, people thought that creating this app and advocating dog fighting was somehow all right. Last we checked, wasn't an NFL superstar in the form of Mike Vick locked up for engaging in such activity? And here's this app developer creating a game and making a quick buck off of it. This is obviously in bad taste.
Goose Looks After Blind Boxer: Metro
To balance out the distasteful news of this dog fighting app, let's take a look at something that is undeniably cute. You read the headline right; apparently, there is a goose who has taken a blind Boxer under his wing and made it his duty to look after him. Buttons, the four-year-old goose, and Baks, the blind Boxer, are now inseparable. Told you we'd come back and drop some cute on this Digest!
Massage Therapy...For Dogs?: New York Times
According to a report from the New York Times this week, people are beginning to engage in giving their dog full-on massage therapy treatments. We here at Petside sure could use one of those! But seriously, when did petting and cuddling not become enough for our animals? Check out the report!
Penguin Giggles When Tickled: PawNation
When you get a second, please go over to PawNation and check out the YouTube video they have of a penguin that actually giggles when it's tickled. Extremely adorable, and sure to lighten your mood on this fine Friday afternoon.
Adoptable Pet of the Week: Luke
Luke (pictured) is a Beagle hailing from New York. He's already spayed, neutered, up to date on all of his shots and is great with kids. All he needs now is a family!

I have 2 yorkies, and they are both very playful, and loving, the kids I never had. I also have a rescue kitten named Rain. My sister and I adopted an Italian Greyhound, that was used strictly for breeding, and beating, she would not come near us and was black and blue from beatings, you would not believe she is the same dog today, she's happy and plays, and even lets us pet her now! We do have to keep a coat on her all the time she gets cold very easily. So don't be afraid of a "rescue" pet, especially if you have alot of LOVE to give.
