Petside Digest: Extremes of Cruelty, Cute Earmark Animal News This Week

Late last week, it was reported that a U.S. marine, Benjamin Asher Link, was arrested and accused of drowning two pit bull puppies. There was little information or reasons behind the 21-year-old man's horrific acts. Truly, we're unsure ourselves as to why anyone would commit an atrocity such as this.

Piglet Found in Lobby of Hawaii Hotel: The Huffington Post
To off-set the negative mood a little, we share this undeniably adorable story of a cute piglet that was found, for no apparent reason, in the lobby of a Hawaiian hotel. According to The Huffington Post piece, all were unsure of exactly how the 5-week-old piglet wound up in the hotel lobby.
Nevertheless, efforts were made to safely secure the piglet. The Hawaiian Humane Society is now caring for the piglet, which they have named Pukulani. We're just wondering if he went "wee" all the way home!

Our adoptable pet of the week is Chester, an adorable Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix puppy hailing from Brooklyn, NY! Chester's still working on house-training, but is a joy to be around and loves other people and dogs, too! He's neutered and up to date on all of his shots.
