We'll start this week's Petside Digest off with a bit of light-hearted news. A recently posted article on CNN captures the mysterious essence of canine investigation as it pertains to potential snacks. In the light-hearted but educational piece, the writer brings up Veterinary Pet Insurance's (VPI) annual list that it compiles of strange ingestion claims as it prepares to hand out its Hambone Award to a canine that ingests the oddest item.
Among the items on this year's list were 100 rocks, dental retainers, a package of fluorescent lightbulbs and a dead porcupine. Yikes!

128 Dogs Found in U-Haul: Petside
And now on to the not so fun news. An animal abuse story broke earlier this week regarding 128 dogs that were found in a U-Haul truck traveling across the country. The situation worsened when it was learned that the dogs belonged to a so-called animal rescue organization, and that the driver of the truck was the founder of that rescue group.
