Truly, our animals are there for us through thick and thin. No matter the situation, it seems as if our animals can be by our side to help through any predicament, even a bout with a deadly disease like cancer.
This is certainly the case with Meredith Lamm-Ashton, who is currently in fighting ovarian cancer. As part of her treatment, she undergoes vigorous chemotherapy, which makes her tired and groggy. But upon waking up from her therapy, she can always count on her five pets being by her side, planting slobbery kisses on her and giving her reassurance that they are there for her.
Seeing her pets is comforting for Lamm-Ashton who is battling ovarian cancer for the second time in a mere two years. Despite the battles with her health, she has always been able to count on her pets.
"They've never left my side," Lamm-Ashton said.
Supported by both her pets and pals of hers, Lamm-Ashton still fights the good fight, and hopes to overcome her disease.
Stories like these reaffirm the idea that our pets are always there for us, no matter how dire our situation appears to be.

I work for a company called Pets Best Insurance, and this article resonates with me so much. Our president and founder was diagnosed with cancer and pulled through, because, he believes he had the support and love of his dog. This is an article he wrote about it: http://www.petsbest.com/blog/stress-causes-disease/
