Beast is Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's new and adorable Puli puppy. NOTE: This is not Beast.
With Facebook announcing that it will hold its IPO earlier this week, one could only imagine that life is going to get that much sweeter for Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's Puli, Beast.
Zuckerberg and long-time girlfriend Priscilla Chan welcomed Beast, a fluffy, white Puli hailing from Grants Pass, Oregon, into their Palo Alto home nearly a year ago.
Although the pup resides in California, he is also alive and well in cyber space, where Zuckerberg created a Facebook page dedicated to the buzz surrounding his newest acquisition. Facebook users who decide to "like" Beast's fan page become privy to a slew of puppy photos that are undeniably cute.
Zuckerberg's status as a billionaire pretty much assures that this dog is going to be pampered to the fullest. Some are even calling this Puli the luckiest pup on the planet.
With Zuckerberg's ability to adopt probably any dog of any breed, one might ask, why adopt a Puli?
The Puli is a unique variety of sheepdog that is originally indigenous to the Hungarian plains. As a breed, these dogs are notable for being energetic and playful, simultaneously enjoying and needing exercise in order to accommodate for their high energy level. They are also excellent house pets, and noted for the protective role they take on once integrated into a family.
The temperament of the Puli qualifies it to be an excellent watchdog.
Does that mean Beast is joining Zuckerberg and Chan in Palo Alto to watch over their house and home? It might. But we're thinking this pup was far too cute to not want to take home. Take a look for yourself at Beast's Facebook page!
