With Pet 'Net 2011, Petside and its friends in the blogosphere are championing the cause and raising awareness of the benefits of animal adoption.
Today, on November 16, 2011, Petside is championing adoption through Pet 'Net 2011, a special all-day online adoption event dedicated to raising awareness about the cause.
On this day, Petside has a dedicated page that is playing host to a wide variety of adoption-centered blog posts from our animal loving friends in the blogosphere. The blogs range from topics such as the benefits of adopting a senior pet to personal adoption stories, and are offered up to our readers through Petside for the day. On the Pet 'Net hub page, readers can peruse the blogs and vote for their favorite story as part of a blogger competition, with the prize being a $500 donation to the animal shelter of the winning blog's choice.
In addition to providing this donation to a local animal shelter (determined by your votes!), Petside is also activating a social media driven donation program that will provide bowls of food to animals in need. There are many ways to donate food to make a difference in an animal's life, so for a full list of ways you can help be sure to visit the Pet 'Net Donation page!
Raising awareness about adoption is becoming increasingly important. In a recent AP-Petside.com poll, over half of Americans say that they have adopted a rescue animal at some point in time. Of those who have adopted, nearly 85% said that they had a positive experience. With Pet 'Net 2011, Petside is hoping to raise awareness about the benefits of adoption to the other half of Americans who have not yet had the experience of taking home a rescue animal.
Visit the Pet 'Net 2011 hub page today to take part in this special all-day online adoption!
