Dog Ate Olympic Athlete's Ticket: Petside

We’ll start this week’s edition of the Petside Digest with the unbelievable story of US Olympic shooter Kim Rhode and how she almost didn’t make it to the London games. The reason? Because her four-month-old puppy ate her ticket! You might have heard a few kids use this as an excuse to get out of a homework assignment, but for Rhodes it wasn’t an excuse at all! Cloned Dog Becomes Dad to Puppies: MSNBC

Lancelot Encore is now the father to eight newborn puppies, and to make the birth even more remarkable, the yellow Labrador Retriever is a literal clone of his owner’s late dog Lancelot (hence the name). Animal Shelter Closed Down Due to Fraud: Petside

Boggs Mountain Humane Shelter, a no-kill facility located in Georgia has been found to be a scam. The shelter featured an adoption program where people donated money so that those who cannot afford to adopt a pet had the ability to do so. Unfortunately, because of an investigative report, it turns out that their “no-kill” claim was untrue. The shelter even went so far as to send emails to donors saying that their sponsored pets were adopted when in actuality, they were euthanized. Check out the full story right here on Petside.

Dog Saved From Being Euthanized Heads To Broadway: ABC News

Sunny, a terrier mix, was only hours away from being euthanized in Houston, before she was adopted. Now, Sunny is far more home and will be making her debut on Broadway soon. After she was adopted, she was flown to New York City to try out for the role of “Sandy” in the new production of Annie. And she got the part. Talk about a lucky break!
