Pets: Two Weimaraners, named Ellie and Ava Q: Do you train with your pets? I do some training with my dogs. One of my favorite things to do with them is to hike at Devil's Lake State Park in Wisconsin. The park has some great hiking trails up very tall bluffs. We usually go on about a 6 mile hike. They get rewarded with going for a swim after the hike. Q: Where did you get your dogs? Our dog's are not "pampered," but they are pure Weimaraners. We bought Ellie from a neighbor and then we bred her. We kept one of her pups, Ava, who is now 4. Ellie is 8. Q: What is your favorite thing to do with your dogs? My husband and I pheasant hunt with them in the fall, winter and spring. That is Ellie and Ava's favorite thing to do. They are awesome bird dogs and they work as a team in the field. It's amazing to watch them! We are usually out in the field for about 4 hours at a time, so it is a good work out for all of us!
