Nominate Your Vet as the Best!

I am sure that folks owned by pets will agree that finding a veterinarian who is not only highly skilled, accessible to clients and obviously a true animal lover can be extremely difficult. When we moved from New York State to Florida, one of the first things on my agenda was locating a local veterinarian who met these requirements. And after visiting several clinics in my neighborhood, I was disappointed with what I found. Either the staff seemed distant and unfriendly, or the facility appeared to be more geared up to sell products than form a partnership relationship with their clients. Even though I was fortunate enough to have a dear friend, a feline-only practitioner that I hold in high esteem, unfortunately her clinic was too far to drive for any emergency. It is stressful enough for our cats to travel even short distances, so the thought of subjecting them to a long trip if they were under the weather was unacceptable. I simply had to find a veterinarian I trusted within a few miles. After many months of unsuccessful searching, mysteriously a flier arrived in my mailbox announcing a mobile practice newly opening. I immediately called and made an appointment for her to meet our kitties and much to my relief the veterinarian was just what the doctor ordered. She is indeed a blessing to our feline family. So the other day I ran across an item that got me thinking about ways in which I could "pay it forward," to the veterinarian that takes such loving care of our furry family members. Pets Best Insurance is offering a fabulous contest in which people can nominate their veterinarian as "Best Vet." Four veterinarians will be chosen each quarter, from January 2011 to December 2011. You don't even have to be a Pets Best Insurance subscriber. All entries are welcome. So if you think your vet is the best, Pets Best Insurance wants you to tell them about it. And if your story wins, not only will your veterinarian receive $500 to cover the cost of treatment for stray animals or pets whose owners can't afford veterinary care, the winning story writer will win a $100 gift card.
