We'll start this week's edition of the Petside Digest with a piece of news that you literally can't make up. Devo, the 80s band perhaps best known for the anthem "Whip It", has recorded a new single all about the now infamous Romney dog on roof incident. The single, titled "Don't Roof Rack Me Bro", expresses the regret that the Romney family dog, Seamus, was forced to ride on the roof of a car for the duration of a 12-hour car trip. Il Palio is a famed horse race that takes place in the city of Siena, Italy. The race, which has become a famed annual tradition, features 10 competitors riding bare back throughout the city, fiercely competing with one another to earn the competition's top prize. The race has recently come under scrutiny though, after six out of the 10 horses in the latest edition of the race crashed. Dog Performs Parkour: YouTube
We'll take a moment out of our day on this fine Friday to bring you an impressive distraction. A recent YouTube video depicts TreT, an American Staffordshire Terrier, performing parkour! For those unfamiliar with the discipline, parkour is the practice of efficient (and graceful) movement off of obstacles. More often than not, it's practiced in a relatively urban environment, where obstacles including walls, staircases, and railings can be found. Usually, parkour is reserved for humans. Not any more, though.
This video of TreT impressively shows that canines can practice parkour, too! Check it out as this American Staffordshire gracefully bounces off of all obstacles in his path!
