The new cat video by The Mean Kitty lightens up moving day.
Cory Williams, that artistically creative, cat savvy, kitty loving photographer who keeps felinophiles entertained for hours on end watching his fabulous “The Mean Kitty series” has struck gold again. I gotta say that so far this amazing video maker has never missed the mark.
His new featured video, Mean Kitty’s New Home which was released just a few weeks ago, has already received high marks for being entertaining, highly informative and extremely helpful for all folks owned by cats who may be moving or just thinking ahead by planning logistics to facilitate a move with much less stress for their furry four-legged family members and themselves.
And what makes this video so delightful, rather than Cory lecturing viewers with suggestions on how to effect a successful move, he ingeniously enlisted the help of their two cats, Sparta, a Bengal-mixed breed, and Loki, the adorable black and white domestic shorthair, to demonstrate that just simply by thinking like a cat, and remembering their special requirements; understanding how some kitties may become skitterish and shy in new and unfamiliar surroundings and what we can do to that really works to make an adjustment to a new home much easier. Of course if one is moving to a far distant area, these ideas are rather impractical. But when moving locally, they are highly doable.
So before the moving van arrives to transport all the furniture and household items, take some time to personally bring all of your cat-related furniture, toys and scratching posts into the new dwelling. That way, when your cats begin slowly exploring, checking out their new home with all their familiar, scent impregnated items available, it will give them a greater sense of security which, of course makes their transition far more interesting and inviting.
What I loved the most about the video was watching the cats discovering their favorite possessions while roaming slowly throughout the house, checking everything out. I bet the cats really appreciated the placement of the cat tree next to the staircase, where they could quickly and conveniently access it.
For some great ideas, take a moment to watch the delightful video uploaded to YouTube by TheMeanKitty.

I definitely had a feeling that Cory may have had the expression “Mi casa es tu casa” in his mind when planning their move by giving their beloved kitties such a thoughtful invitation to enjoy their home.

I loved it. What a sweet and thoughtful man.!Bless him and his beautiful.
i just love how cautious and careful and intrigued they are! Exploring ever so readily! I've been anticipating a move for a year or so now and have often thought of how to best do it for the kitties! I love that he said he moved everything in first. i had that same thought. Figuring all their scents would be in the new place once I brought them in. This just reinforces that. Thanks for a great post! This is one I'll refer to often!!
What a GREAT video!
Cory is absolutely right! Makes me think they must have moved with cats before, because our tried-and-true formula, the product of many moves, mirrors theirs. And yes, I also love the thoughtfully-placed cat tree (and wall of cat furniture!).
They don't look like they are having much trouble getting used to their new place. A little exploring and they have taken right to the place. Great idea to help them become adjusted.
