MOVE OVER TYRA BANKS....

Elvis Modeling Some cats just really know how to throw a party. Take Matilda, the resident feline of New York's Beloved Algonquin Hotel in New York City. To celebrate her 12th birthday, she and a couple of her friends put on a Feline Fashion Charity Bash ("invitation only," natch) to benefit North Shore Animal League America. Kitties from near and far strutted their stuff on the catwalk, including a Maine Coon named Thomas Handsome, who, confident in his own sexuality, wore a sundress trimmed in ribbon that said "Got Fish?" on it, a Devon Rex, named Diamond Dust, who was totally awesome in his Harry Potter ensemble, and a Savannah named Elvis, who wore (what else?) a black leather beauty in honor the King. Brain, in his vacation wear My favorites were the totally radical outfits worn by two sleek Sphynx owned by Sandy Adler of the Westchester Feline Club. Hale Bop was resplendent in a totally fab kelly green Scarlet O'Hara satin gown with puff sleeves and matching feather headpiece and the (Johnny Depp eat your heart out) Pirate of the Penzance ensemble worn by Skin the Cat. Hale Bop as Scarlet O'Hara.....Skin the Cat as the Pirate The creator of these amazing outfits was Carla Reiss. Reiss has been designing soft toys, doll costumes, pet apparel, and commercial sewing patterns for over twenty years. It's no wonder she has any time, what with caring for her own six babies, five of whom were rescues. Check out her website www.mymeow-wear.com. if you're looking for items like mousin' around sweaters, after-bath wear, cat's pajamas, or handmade harnesses and collars. Her baby, Brain, (yes, Brain...not Brian) wore his vacation outfit to the show. My puddies are sketching out their special order Halloween costume orders as we speak.
