The Famous Talking Dog Mishka Celebrates 10 Years

We here at Petside would like to wish a happy belated birthday to a very special dog. On June 16, Mishka, the famous talking dog Mishka who rose to Internet stardom with the advent of YouTube, celebrated her 10th birthday!

Mishka rose to prominence thanks to a viral video her owners posted to YouTube showing the Husky conversing using what sounds like human speech. This special talent earned Mishka credit and acclaim; since her original video debut (a video which now has over 70 million hits on YouTube, mind you), Mishka has made the media rounds, making appearances on talk shows such as Today and being featured in TV commercials. Mishka has delved into merchandising in the form of t-shirts, and has branched into the social realm with her own Facebook, Twitter and, most recently, Instagram accounts. With these social connections, all can stay abreast of her family's wild adventures!

In tribute to the talking dog Mishka and her recently-passed birthday, we'd like to share a recently posted video of Mishka showing that the pup not only speaks like a human sometimes, but also has human emotions. In an adorable clip, Mishka shows jealousy that the family’s new baby is getting more attention than her. She even gets jealous that baby Trevor is getting camera time and she’s not!
