Life Coaching from a Cat's Perspective

Published February 10, 2011

I totally disagree with the expression, "You can't teach old dog new tricks". Since I am my strongest critic, I completely know I am far from purrfect, even though I try.

And though it can be challenging at times, I am always on the lookout for ways in which I can improve myself. I welcome suggestions from trusted friends about how I can become more considerate to others; more open with my feelings, and of course more fun to be around.

The shelves in my local bookstore are filled with self-help books and videos just waiting to be read, with an abundance of attractive notices inviting folks to join a wide array of support groups plastered on the bulletin boards. With all these resources at my fingertips one would think that my self-fulfillment and enlightenment is just a stone's throw away!

Beckoning and intriguing me are the wide variety of calling cards of life coaches promising a successful outcome. But, being somewhat wary of being scammed, I decided it best to surf the Internet to find a trained and skillful guru who would actually deliver the goods. I am so glad I made that decision.

Since cat lovers are fully aware of the spiritual nature of felines, we know these mysterious and enlightened beings are often wise beyond comprehension. So in reality, who needs or can afford to shell out a lot of moolah to a stranger who promises to lead us to Nirvana, when all we need to do is to simply take the time to "listen" to the sage advice our cats have to offer, which they do unconditionally and freely, without us going broke.

But finding just the right teacher wasn't easy, folks! However, after spending hours searching, I was blown away by the teachings channeled by britches1985 in the video he uploaded to YouTube. And even though this lesson was written in honor of World Animal Day (which is celebrated annually on October 4) the messages were exactly what I "kneaded" to hear.

So without further ado, here is my gift for anyone seeking the way to peace and contentment. Take a moment out of your busy day, breathe deeply, relax, kick off your shoes and share a meditative moment with a truly gifted Life Coach, who teaches the feline way.

But before you doze off for a much needed nap, please further inspire us with a comment.

I HAVE THREE "KAT-KIDS", MY CONSTANT COMPANIONS THAT I LOVE AS MUCH AS MY TWO "HUMAN KIDS"... THEY HAVE SHOWN ME THE TRUE INSIGHT TO THE MEANING OF "ZEN" AND BEING
IN THE MOMENT... BUT MOST OF ALL I HAVE LEARNED THE ONLY TWO HUMAN WORDS CATS KNOW AND USE VERY WELL ARE...""MEE-NOW"" HAHA!

Awww I loved that! I've seen many of those pics before, but never put in this way.... and many I haven't seen... I loved most of them, but of the ones I haven't seen before, I think the kitty in the breadmaker (!) and the toilet paper kitties were my top two favs!
