Most Important Training Tool - Tamar's Answer

Q: What is the most important tool in dog training?

The most important tool in dog training is to make learning fun, both for you and for your dog! Science has proved that people and animals learn much faster and retain knowledge better when they are not stressed.

Try to come up with as many games as possible and/or use my Loved Dog method for direction. Incorporate their training into your everyday life so the dog will not only have fun, but will also see the relevance of doing what they are asked.

For example: The dog has to sit before you put their leash on, before you open the door, or before you let them out if they are in the car. Celebrate your dog's victories whole-heartedly along the way, and encourage him to venture out and try new behaviors. Look for opportunities to tell the dog what their doing right and training will be nice and easy!
