Iams Home 4 the Holidays, one of the world's largest adoption drives, has helped over 1 million pets find forever-loving homes this past holiday season.
This year alone, the adoption initiative (which is a joint partnership between Iams and the Helen Woodward Animal Center) helped approximately 1,267,541 animals find new homes in a 95-day period that lasted from October 1, 2011 to January 3, 2012.
The adoption drive, which aimed to raise awareness about pet adoption and place animals in the hands of responsible pet owners, has also helped numerous animal organizations along the way. This year, with their annual Bags 4 Bowls initiative (a donation-driven program based on user interaction with social media and other online platforms), Iams met its goal of donating 5 million meals to pets in need.
"Not only is this a huge victory for these pets, but for the thousands of people working in animal organizations around the world who have dedicated their lives to helping end pet homelessness," said Mike Arms, the adoption drive's founder and president of Helen Woodward Animal Center.
Iams Home 4 the Holidays has and will continue to be a worthy cause that Petside wholeheartedly supports; since its inception 13 years ago, the initiative has helped find homes for over 7 million pets and assisted over 4,000 animal organizations across the globe.
