A: You are correct as to why he is doing this but I am sure it can become bothersome. I would hope that your kitten will eventually grow out of this behavior. In the meantime, have you tried getting him a stuffed animal that he can have or even other toys to try to distract him from suckling all together? Check out the "catsifier" online. Apparently, the catsifier is no longer available? I went to the web site and they say they are totally out of stock. Does anyone know of a similar product?
my 8 wk old munchkin suckles my neck or the collar of my shirt. i am going to get one of those pacifiers for kittens, in the meantime, if this calms my baby girl then as her "mommy", I will tend to her needs, she is not hurting me, and usually does it while on computer, watching tv and sometimes at night in bed. She crawls up on my shoulder and does her thing, sometimes if she gets into it, will leave little hickies behind. LOL. Is it apart of kitten's growing up, we should not take away what they know. But that catifier thing I think she would like and use.
