With their Holiday Koast-to-Koast Kibble Drop, Freekibble.com is helping America's shelter pets by donating over 400,000 meals for the holidays.

The holidays represent a season of giving, and perhaps no other organization knows that better than Freekibble.com, a website dedicated to helping shelter pets. Since 2008, the organization has donated over 6.6 million meals to shelter pets in need. This year, they are looking to continue their holiday good will, and have in the form of a unique holiday initiative.

This week, Freekibble.com began its Holiday Koast-to-Koast Kibble Drop, a holiday initiative conducted in tandem with Halo Pets that aims to put nutritious meals in the hungry bellies of homeless pets. The largest for the organization, this holiday event is incredibly unique; the recipe for this initiative involves two semi-trucks, 40 tons of dog food, 40 participating animal shelters and rescues, and, of course, a heavy-handed dash of holiday cheer.

From December 13-22, two semi-trucks, one headed east and one headed west from Tennessee, will make a combined dozen stops at various animal shelters and rescues throughout the continental United States, donating much-needed kibble to the participating animal shelters and rescues. When all is said and done, over 400,000 meals will be donated to America's shelter pets.

For those interested, Freekibble has provided a road map that displays the path of the two semi-trucks and their stops while they carry out their hopeful holiday mission.
