Free Kibble for a Cause!

Published May 28, 2008
You’ve heard of viral marketing…well, here’s a cause I hope y’all will copy-for-cats, and send out all over the country. It began with a young girl, Mimi Ausland, from Bend, Oregon wanting to help d*gs at her local animal shelter. Mimi created www.freekibble.com to help feed hungry pooches.. Thus far, the response has been incredible. And there’s absolutely no reason why a “free kibble for cats” wouldn’t work just as well. After all, we’re in the middle of kitten season, and fast approaching June’s “National Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat-Month.” The way freekibble works is very simple: Every day you answer the dog trivia question (Bow Wow Trivia), right or wrong, freekibble will donate 10 pieces of kibble to the chosen shelter. The more people that play, the more pets can eat. The primary mission of freekibble.com is to provide good, healthy dog food to these shelters that are working so hard to see that no dog goes hungry. Mimi's goal is to start with providing free kibble to the Humane Society of Central Oregon and then many more shelters after that. In the first 5 weeks, freekibble.com generated over 210,000 pieces of kibble (enough to feed 560 dogs for one day!) Please check out the site, play Bow Wow trivia and help spread the word - there are lots of d*gs to feed!
