Petside's editor finds her match.

Everyone knows people grow to look like their pets, but the Pedigree Adoption Drive in New Zealand thinks we should cut to the chase by adopting our dog look-a-likes using this dog doppelganger site.

Not a bad idea. I mean who's cuter than you, really?

When you visit the doggelganger site, futuristic facial recognition software scans your image and finds you a doggie doppelganger (a doggelganger) from a database of homeless dogs.

Mine is the sufficiently adorable 2-moth-old hound/ Beagle mix, Olly. Most of us overseas probably can't adopt our matches (leave a comment if you're heading to New Zealand and want to bring Olly stateside for me!), but it certainly got me wanting to adopt an Olly doppelganger over here.

Facial recognition software meets saving doggie lives: Love it.
