Iams Home 4 the Holidays campaign for pet adoption hopes to get 1.5 million pets in forever homes by January 3, 2012.
Cat adoption often starts off rocky: there's under-couch hiding, under-bed hiding, hiding in spaces you never guessed a cat could fit into, bug eyes, crouching, slinking, and eventually sniffing, eating, following, cuddling, and loving.
Cats are cautious at first, especially adult cats in a brand-new environment, but when they finally accept you, it's with an unwavering devotion.
Iams Home 4 the Holidays, an initiative that hopes to find forever homes for 1.5 million pets by January 3, 2012, explains it all in this cute cat adoption video.
This year, Iams and Helen Woodward Animal Center will team up with more than 3,500 animal organizations worldwide to encourage pet adoption.
In addition, Iams will also donate 5 million meals to animals in need at adoption and rescue centers through its Bags 4 Bowls program. You can help earn those meals for shelter pets housed in participating organizations by:
- Visiting the Iams Facebook page and clicking to “Like” the page. For each “Like” Iams will donate meals.
- Share a story or photo about the moment your pet adopted you on the Iams Facebook page and 25 meals wil be donated!
- Purchasing specially-marked packages of Iams dog or cat food during the duration of the campaign. For every specially-marked package sold, Iams will donate one bowl of food to a participating Iams Home 4 The Holidays animal organization.
Stay tuned as we share more ways to get involved this holiday season!
