Dogs vs cats: who do Americans like better, cats or dogs? An Associated Press-Petside.com poll found out!
Dogs vs cats: who's smarter, and who's more popular, cats or dogs? It seems like dogs and cats are always being pitted against each other.
So who does win the hearts of the most people, cats or dogs? A poll of American adults aimed to answer that very question.
A new Associated Press-Petside.com poll asked pet-owners and those without pets how much they like dogs and cats.
Participants could respond with "like a lot," "like a little," "neither like nor dislike," "dislike a little," or "dislike a lot."
Dogs vs Cats: The Statistics
While 3 out of 4 adults (74%) said they like dogs a lot, only 2 out of 5 respondents (41%) said they like cats a lot.
Only four percent of adults said they dislike dogs "a little" or "a lot," while more than 1-in-4 (26%) said they dislike cats "a little" or "a lot."
Of all the groups that answered, married men were the most likely to say they dislike cats.
So why the difference between love for cats or dogs? In the battle of dog vs cats, do cats get a bad rap?

It depends on the Cat or Dog's personality. Some cats love their owners and are happy to see them some not so much. same with dogs.

Dogs! Don't get me wrong I love cats but dogs are the closet animals to humans and help us hunt, have transportation and according to this show I watched their dogs are more important than their weapons. If a dog gets cut or just sprained a paw everyone would drop their weapons and come to the dog.,,. DOGS ARE HUMANS BEST FRIEND. (I like cats still)(but love them dogs):)
can cats help the disabled?? can cats help blind people?? can cats help find missing people or bodies in police investigations? lets not forget the k-9 unit dogs that help out are very smart. oh ya, the dogs that help out sniffing drugs at the airport... dogs are smarter end of story.. cats do have personalities but I dont hate cats. Just not into cats. They dont come to you when you call their name. They just stare at you..When you come home, a dog is waiting for you at the front door wagging his/her tail so fast and is so happy to see you... Are cats happy to see you when you get home??? Cats seem to care about themselves most of the time. From time to time, they will come to you when they want attention... I hear people saying cats have more personality?? explain lol I dont believe so.
Cats can help the disabled. There is such thing as therapy cats. And obviously you never owned a cat so why are you judging? When i come from home my cats come and great me my rubbing against my legs, and meowing joyfully. And actually dogs well do anything for food, and are vert needy. Unlike cats. Cats are independent but very social at the same time. My cat always comes when i call his name. You should not judge a cat. Cats are such wonderful creatures. But hey don't get me wrong i love dogs too, but i have always been more of a cat person. I have owned cats almost all of my life and i have had lots of experience. And lastly cats can save people see for yourself, type in animal rescue stories. A black cat saved a little girl's life when a man tried robbing her house. He scratched, and bit the man. The man then ran away. But in the end i guess cats and dogs are both wonderful pets. Why dont u adopt a cat now!
