Dogs can eat some pretty weird stuff, pillows included.

Olive has never been into chewing dangerous household items, despite the bobby pin I pulled out of her mouth this morning. That's not the case for many dogs, as a major pet health insurance agency recently reported. The company received more than 6,500 foreign object ingestion claims in 2011, and the items swallowed would put a circus performer to shame. (I thought it was impressive when my former dog ate  2 sticks of butter, wrappers and all. Hardly.)

Some of the most outrageous foreign bodies:

- 100 rocks

- a foot-long metal hanger

- a dirty diaper

- a jellyfish

- an entire tube of dog toothpaste

- a rat (swallowed whole)

- a burrito wrapped in foil

- a marijuana cookie

- a rosebush

- 15 vanilla votive candles

- Chopsticks

It's hard to believe, but all of the pets made full recoveries! Has your dog ever eaten anything bizarre?
