Dog With Knife In Head Chases Robbers: Animal Planet

In this week or any other, would you ever imagine a dog being described as "happy" after it had a knife stuck squarely in its head? We didn't think so. But that was exactly the case of little Bella, a six-year-old Alastian/terrier mix, who suffered the injury after a run-in with criminals trying to break in to her neighbor's home.

The story goes that Bella, after being attacked by the potential burglars she chased off, ran after the perpetrators, seemingly failing to notice the large knife sticking out of her head. 

After being taken to the vet, the dog didn't even seem to notice the wound, and seemed...happy.

What an awesome dog, if we may say so ourselves!

Doctor Turns Away Guide Dog: Petside

It seems that we have a case of animal discrimination on our hands after seeing a story break from the Philadelphia area this week.

Apparently, a doctor, Priya Punjuabi, told a blind man, Joe Cichonski, that he could not wait in the lobby for his wife with his guide dog, Hero. Huh?

Pretty newsworthy, if you ask us. Let us know what you think about this situation!

Biker Rescues Drowning Kitten: Life With Cats

This week also presented to us an incredible rescue story from overseas. Apparently, in Ireland, a man on a motorcycle noticed a kitten drowning in a river adjacent to his riding area.  So what did he do? Oh, you know, only jumped off his bike, jumped in the river and swam over to save the kitten. Pretty everyday stuff here at the Petside offices.

Seriously though, this is an incredible story! We'd all like to think that we'd do the same, but this guy actually did it. The kitten, little Jonah, is alive because of this Derry man (who wishes to remain anonymous).

Luck of the Irish for this cat? Maybe. But we'll chalk it up to good will. Kudos, sir, kudos.
