A: Chocolate is toxic to dogs. Bakers chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate is most toxic while milk chocolate is not as toxic but still not safe. Chocolate's toxicity depends on the type of chocolate ingested, the amount, and the size of the dog. For example, if an 80 pound dog eats one M&M, nothing will happen. Chocolate toxicity does affect the heart, central nervous system, and gastrointestinal system. It is best to keep dogs away from chocolate!

Please take this advice!! I just lost my pup to chocolate. He got hold of semi-sweet chocolate chips and even though it wasn't much, it was toxic and he died. Not enough people know about this, I wish it was a law that all chocolate had warnings to keep away from dogs. I may still have my boy Ace with me today.
