Do You Consider Age When You Feed Your Pet?

Is age a factor in determining what food you feed your pets? Perhaps it should be.

A survey released by Iams Premium Protection found that only 10% of U.S. pet owners take the age of their cat or dog into consideration when determining which formula to feed their pet. But cat and dog nutrition needs change with age, much like our own.

For instance puppies need DHA for brain and vision development while senior dogs benefit from the ingredient sodium hexametaphosphate or HMP, which helps to keep teeth clean during and after meals, according to Dr. Katy J. Nelson, DVM, a member of the Iams Pet Wellness Council.

i think that many of us w/multi dog/pet households would like to be able to feed our pets according to their age & etc. i'm a widow and must work 40+ hours a week to just afford what i can purchase. i try to buy a brand w/good all around nutrients, i will not buy the cheap stuff.
