The cooler weather is here, which means so are fall fashions. And we think your furry sidekick deserves a new addition to her wardrobe too!
You can update the look of your dog or cat’s collar with this handcrafted felt flower embellishment. Unlike store-bought sweaters and chunky vests, your pet won’t mind wearing this soft and subtle appliqué inside the house as well as out so it’s one pet project worth crafting.
To make this cute and comfortable pet accessory, first cut out colorful petals, secure them together with glue, then attach them to your pet’s existing collar. Read on for full how-to instructions.

Materials
- Assorted colors of felt
- Scissors
- Fabri-tac glue ($8.50 from Amazon)
- Pet Collar

Step 1: Cut three X shapes from different colors of felt, making each slightly smaller in size than the last.

Step 2: Use Fabri-tac adhesive to tack the ends of each X down in the center to create flower shapes.

Step 3: Stack flower shapes so that the smallest is on top, then glue together to secure.

Step 4: Use scissors to cut a slit through the middle of each of the 12 petals. Fringe a ¾” wide strip of felt, add a line of glue along the base, then roll it up to form the flower’s center; glue in place on the flower.

Step 5: Glue the completed flower to the center of a 1” wide felt strip, then wrap the strip around the collar and glue it together to secure. (The loop should slide around the collar freely.)

Step 6: Once dry, put the embellished collar on your dog or cat’s neck!
