Maru, the cat YouTube sensation, has a book slated for release for the American public.

Maru, the Scottish Fold cat turned YouTube sensation that has captured the imaginations of over 100 million viewers, is releasing a book for the American public to feast their eyeballs upon.

The book, scheduled to be released August 23, 2011, is the translated version of his first book, which was previously released to the Japanese public.

The lovable ball of fur, who, although native to Japan, became notable throughout the world for his adorable YouTube antics, is beloved by the cat video viewing public.

As of June 2011, Maru the cat's videos had been viewed over 100 million times on YouTube. In September 2009, Maru the cat's channel was the ninth most subscribed YouTube channel for the entire nation of Japan. Clearly, Maru is Japan's most famous (and perhaps loved) cat.

With the new book, Maru will more than likely offer reader more than the recommended dose of cute that he already provides via his videos.
