Cat Daddy Jackson Galaxy is Influencing Our Cats' Behavior

Cat Daddy Jackson Galaxy's new book is making an impression on many cats.

Jackson Galaxy’s new book  "Cat Daddy: What the World's Most Incorrigible Cat Taught me about Life, Love and Coming Clean" is a must read for cat lovers. However, the icing on the cake for me was gaining  greater insight into the behavior of our two highly intelligent, mysterious and delightful kitties.

It was fascinating to learn more about Jackson’s life and the experiences which led him to fall in love with cats. His profound insight and self-disclosure made it possible for me to connect with my own profound feelings of loss surrounding the deaths of some of my dearly beloved kitties; emotions which I had buried for what seemed like an eternity.

Since I treasure Jackson’s book, and hold him in such high esteem, the moment I discovered an audio version was available, I jumped onto Amazon.com  and purchased the set of CDs read by the author.

Once the CDs arrived, my husband Marty and I settled down on the couch with great anticipation, eager to listen to them. Joining us were our two Oriental Shorthair cats, Dr. Hush Puppy and Sir Hubble Pinkerton, quickly jumping into our laps, making themselves comfortable.

Jackson Galaxy speaks feline

Since Marty and I are displaced native New Yorkers, the familiar Manhattan twang of Jackson Galaxy was delightful. So much so that even our cats were “tuned in” to the rich cadence of his voice. They purred their little hearts out as they listened.

While the audio book is galvanizing I am afraid we might have created a monster by inviting our cats to join us as we listened to “Cat Daddy”. You may be wondering what is making me suspicious, but after I share some of the observable changes in our cats’ behavior after they heard “Cat Daddy” you might just understand my dilemma.

Our cats are now blinking at us, almost continuously, using Jackson’s slow “I love you” technique. For some unknown reason we think both of them are trying to tell us something about which we are hopelessly clueless. Although we experience moments of stress, on the whole we are generally peaceful and calm.

Book Review: "Cat Daddy" by Jackson Galaxy

And on more than one occasion, I have found Sir Hubble Pinkerton curling up on Jackson’s hard cover book as if it was a soft pillow; his heavy eyelids slowly closing as he drifts off to cat-nap land.

But what is really making matters far worse is once again, both of our cats have started giving me orders where they wish to be fed by planting themselves in various locations.

Purrhaps it’s really time to schedule a private session with Jackson to help us deal with these particular issues. What do you suggest? Share in a comment.

Cats understand a lot more than most of us give them credit for, don't they?

Ah well....I always knew that your fur children could wrap you and Marty around their beautiful furry paws. I honestly think that our cats are just happy to have a home. They are all rescues and there is no complaining abut food, bowl location, or cat litter pans. The only problem they have had lately is having my adult son move in with us. Having an extra purrson in the house has been a bit of an inconvenience for them but....they found out quickly that all the lessons on manors can go right out the window with him and he is spoiling them terribly. When I read Cat Daddy's book....I will read it in my pickup truck when I am waiting for family to shop or appointments. :)

I am truly curious about why your kitties demand to be fed in different spots around the house. All 8 of my cats eat from the same bowls that have been in the same place, offering the same food for YEARS and no one has complained or refused to eat. If you do schedule a session with Jackson, PLEASE update me on what he says. Hugs to all!

Have your cats tried to clicker train you to feed them on demand yet? If so, you know the Cat Daddy book is encoded with secret messages to cats about the coup. Jackson is signaling cats to begin the final push for world domination.

Well Law Honey, maybe they just want to do something different. I just can't imagine you or Marty not giving them what they want, so go ahead, indulge them. After all, how could yall possibly spoil those pretty kitties? hehe
