Cat Boarding Facility Charms Feline Guests

A cat boarding facility called the Cats Cottage Inn pampers its many feline guests.
While most dogs enjoy going on vacation with their peeps, the majority of felines (with some exceptions) go bonkers at the slightest changes to their daily routine. As a result, many kitty guardians prefer to leave their cats at home in the capable hands of a trusted sitter, or when a caretaker is not available to lodge them at a local cat boarding facility.
Cats don’t easily adjust to radical environmental changes, so it can be an awesome task for guardians to find just the purrfect feline-friendly boarding establishment to meet their kitty’s needs. Since many commercial boarding enterprises house dogs and cats (often in small metal cages), the strange sounds and unfamiliar odors are highly stressful for felines.
So what does an ideal cat boarding facility look like? What services do they offer and is environmental “Catification” truly their priority?
To answer this question, I started surfing the Internet to find what I considered to be the “template” for the consummate “home away from home” boarding facility for felines . . . and I found one!
Located in New Richland, Minnesota, the “Five Paw” rated Cats Cottage Inn provides the ultimate in luxurious boarding to please even the fussiest feline. Set in a scenic country venue, its spacious private rooms (or suites for multiple cats) offer guests a view of flowers and the local wildlife. Bird feeders hung outside the windows provide their guests hours of entertainment, and piped-in soft music reduces stress and boredom. During chilly weather, kitties’ paws are kept warm with radiant floor heat.
The innkeeper, Bonnie Anthony, adores cats. Her inspiration for opening such a luxurious kitty hotel was to be able to give cats the excellent and loving care they deserve. She derives a great deal of pleasure from the fabulous feedback she receives from the kitty guardians who truly appreciate the fabulous services offered at her establishment.
Since Bonnie’s philosophy about cats includes the importance of mental stimulation and playtime to enhance cats’ emotional and physical well-being, Cats Cottage Inn gives guests an opportunity to exercise in privacy or with their kitty companion. The spacious playroom/sunroom, complete with climbing towers and an ample supply of toys with which to play, is available at least one hour a day for recreation.
Keeping their guests safe is a top priority for the Cats Cottage Inn. With a double door entry system, guests are always safely enclosed in the boarding area. Helping to keep cats healthy is an excellent air exchange and ventilation system bringing in fresh outdoor air. To keep the inn immaculate, housekeeping is performed daily, or more when necessary.
But just like any fine feline auberge, there are rules which must be followed. Guests must be flea-free and the Cats Cottage Inn highly recommends that cats are treated at least 48 hours prior to registering. If fleas are discovered, a $50 charge is added to the tab along with the risk of the kitty not being invited for a return visit. Vaccination records must be provided as well. In the event that a guest should become ill, a highly qualified veterinary service is only 15 minutes away.
Although the Cats Cottage Inn serves only dry food, if guests prefer eating moist food, their guardians are invited to provide it.
If I were a cat, and my humans were headed out of town, when I think of the “Five Paw” style pampering I’d get at the Cats Cottage Inn, it sure sounds like the “cat’s meow” to me.
