Cat and Dolphin: A Remarkable Friendship

Even though I have been an active Internet user for almost 16 years and take much of it for granted, there is something so incredibly special about the online relationships I have made .

The other day I was in an extremely brooding, dark mood about world issues and also not feeling at all well physically. In an effort to escape my feelings, I retreated into my usual distraction . . . online farming games. Feeling somewhat of a hermit, I was certainly not interested in connecting with anyone. But for some reason I did not understand, something was compelling me to log into my email. And even though I was not particularly eager to read my mail, one piece from a friend with whom I am deeply connected “sang” out to me, enticing me to check it out.

It was just as if she had felt my deep gloominess across the stretch of cyber space, since the video contained in the email was so inspirational to me that I had to share it with our readers.

It got me wondering about what truly stops us from really respecting, honoring and appreciating the differences in the customs and beliefs that all the people in the world bring to the table.  It could potentially put an end to the conflicts that lead to fear, hatred and war. Instead, wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to live in peace and harmony, accepting our differences as fascinating a and becoming open to unconditional love?

I am very grateful to my friend for sending me this truly incredible video featuring two completely different animal species most of us would never dream of as compatible. It chased away my gloom and lifted my spirits as I watched a very special friendship developing as their fears and the mistrust of one another diminished.  Perhaps it is possible that we can emulate them some day.

Take a few moments out of your busy day to breathe deeply and watch the video uploaded to YouTube by TheAngeyes.

I am extremely disappointed that I am unable to see this video. Can anyone tell me how to find it? I am a CAT person and adore dolphins and would love to experience this friendship, even just a little. Calico1960

I really wanted to see this, but it seems it has been removed. Animals are wonderful, and full of surprises. What we do without them, it would be a lonely world indeed.

it's cute and all, but me thinks the cat is just trying to figure out how to eat this big fish smelling thing

Beautiful video, and eloquent and beautifully heartfelt thoughts from you, Jo -- THANK YOU for sharing them. I agree 100%. Let those of us who believe likewise work toward fostering that understanding and broadening that tolerance and compassion worldwide. Let it begin with me.
